I was out of town on the weekend, so didn’t post. So by way of recompense, here is a three-part poem, dedicated to Toowoomba, where I spent ten years of my life…

Sunlight hitting the table

Midges around our lunch

We move over

Drive through town

Smell of rain on the wind

Brings back forgotten memories

Now we watch TV

On the streets

Washes everything away

  1. Penni says:

All of these are so evocative, but the last one is hauntingly beautiful – the familiar turned surreal, so that even our memories are undone.
