Poetry: Day Thirteen

Cold beneath the street light
We watch the fog crawl across the darkened field
Full of shadows
We can barely make out
Hints at something darker
Watching us as we walk
You put your arm though mine
Your skin, cool and smooth
Snaps me out of my trance
“You’re nice and warm,”
You say
I forget about the darkness for a moment
And we walk together
